Dibang valley district Anini is located in the state of Arunachal Pradesh, Dibang valley Anini come into existence on 1st June 1980 with it Headquarter at Anini curved out from Lohit District. It is named after river Dibang consisting of three major rivers which DRI, MATHU, and TALO and three other smaller rivers which AHI, AWA and EMRA. It has an area of 9129 sq. kms with population of 8004 as per the 2011 census. Dibang valley is one of the largest Districts of Arunachal Pradesh with the lowest density of population in India, the IDU MISHMI tribal people constitute a majority here. Most of Dibang valley district Anini located on miniature plateau between two tributaries of the Dibang river, the DRI river and MATHU river. Arunachal Pradesh with the main land standing in between 95 15’E and 96 35’E longitude and 28 22’N 29 27’N latitude bound by international boundary in the North-West, North East with Tibet and China. It also bound by the lower dibang valley in the south and upper Siang District in the South-West. The tribal people of Anini District have History of consumption of Opium and Alcohol for time immemorial. Its consumption was considered normal during the olden days. To counter the problem of rampant illicit use of Opium and Alcohol consumption in the District, Addiction treatment Facility (ATF), Anini has been initiate on 8th February 2024, and has been functioning actively on OPD basis since the inception, Located in Anini District under the District Hospital. Addiction Treatment Facility, District Hospital Anini run under the aegis of National Drug Dependent Treatment Centre (NDDTC) with support from Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE), Government of India and are nationally coordinated by NDDTC, AIIMS Delhi. The facility aims to provide services for patient using drugs alcohol and other substance. The medication is provided free of costs to the patients and expenditure are borne by the Government of India under the scheme. To curb the usage of the Drugs and Alcohol among the natives of District Anini, and to provide continuity of care to its patients, the ATF Anini is determined to help it patients in every possible way, for better insight and provision of comprehensive treatment to its patients, ATF has a dedicated team of Medical officer, Counsellor, and Data Manager.
