Department of Psychiatry at B J Government Medical College , Pune , Maharashtra is a heritage department and is functional since last more than 60 yrs. This department is situated in the Sassoon Hospital near the Pune Railway station and lies at the heart of Pune city. The department is located in the Heritage David Sassoon building of the hospital. It caters to the patients coming from Pune City and district and major part of the western Maharashtra and Marathwada region. It is one of the major hospital in the city with 24 x 7 service to the needy patients suffering from various mental health illnesses. It has OPD and IPD services along with Psychology and Day care service . It handles around 200 patients daily suffering from various mental health issues and illnesses. ADDICTION TREATMENT FACILITY is operating in the Department of Psychiatry building and serving the patients suffering from various substance related problems and issues. ATF is well equipped with the qualified and trained staff and latest medicines in the treatment of addictive disorders.
