The Addiction Treatment Facility (ATF) at AIIMS Kalyani is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for individuals with substance uses. Established in February 2023 in collaboration with the National Drug Dependent Centre (NDDTC) AIIMS New Delhi and supported by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, our facility operates under the Department of Psychiatry. Our mission is to offer a broad spectrum of evidence-based treatments designed to aid individuals on their path to recovery. Our core services include: Withdrawal Management: We provide safe, medically-supervised withdrawal management to help patients overcome physical dependence on substances. Long-term Maintenance Therapy: Our ongoing treatment plans are tailored to prevent relapse and support sustained recovery. Comprehensive Counselling: We offer individual, group, and family counselling sessions to address the diverse needs of our patients and their families. Motivational Enhancement Therapy: Our interventions are designed to boost patients’ motivation to change and commit to their recovery process. Relapse Prevention Strategies: These are essential techniques and therapies aimed at maintaining sobriety and preventing relapse. Aftercare Support: We ensure continued support post-treatment, aiding patients in their long-term recovery journey. Tele-communication Services: Extending our reach through tele-communication services to support patients remotely. • Facility and Patient care: Our Outpatient Department (OPD) serves an average of 60-70 patients each month, reflecting our communities trust in our services. To further support recovery, we offer an inpatient facility with 10 dedicated beds, consistently maintaining a high occupancy rate of 90-100%., and often beyond. This inpatient care allows for intensive treatment and close monitoring of patients in a supportive environment. We adopt a holistic approach to treatment, addressing not only the physical aspects of addiction but also the psychological, emotional, and social dimensions. Key components of our care include: ? Community Services • Collaboration and Specialized Services: Addiction Treatment Facility (ATF) works collaboratively with various units within the Department of Psychiatry, including General Psychiatry, Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Mood & Memory Clinic, Tobacco Cessation Clinic (TCC) & Behavioral Addiction Management Services (BAMS). We also facilitate referrals to other departments of AIIMS, Kalyani through Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry (CLP) services. • Education and Training: In addition to clinical services, we conduct various awareness, teaching & training programs regarding substance use disorders and its treatment options. Our institution also offers a Post-Doctoral Certificate Course (PDCC) in Addiction Psychiatry, supervised by experienced faculties of our department for better management of patients with substance uses.
