DISTRICT HOSPITAL GYALSHING, WEST SIKKIM. District Hospital Gyalshing is situated in the West district of Sikkim. It caters to an estimated population of 147,036 of west district, Sikkim. It is 100 bedded hospital and OPD services are available for all specialty . District Hospital Gyalshing started Addiction Treatment Facility (ATF) under National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR) under the aegis of Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt of India. The facility was inaugurated by Shri Lok Nath Nepal, honorable Minister of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Agriculture and IPR, Govt Of Sikkim on 28th of June 2022.The facility aims to provide services for patients using drugs and alcohol and improve functioning within their family, work and community lives. Types of addiction treatment can vary depending upon the type of substances being used, individual medical and mental health needs, as well as other social issues. Currently only out patient treatment services are available which is mostly focused on education, counseling and providing medications to the patients with substance use disorders.
